Judd and Amy Annis started Croquet for Curing Cancer in 2002 to have fun with friends and family, eat good food, and fight cancer locally. Since then, this annual croquet tournament and barbecue, which takes place in the Annis’ backyard, has raised more than $60,000 for the University of Kansas Medical Center’s Institute for Advancing Medical Innovation (IAMI) and the KU Cancer Center.
With money from this tournament and other supporters, IAMI and the KU Cancer Center are creating new therapeutic approaches for use in cancer patients to prevent, treat, and cure the disease. By investing in high potential academic projects with industry-experienced leadership, IAMI and the KU Cancer Center are delivering homegrown, life-saving cancer treatments to our community.
