Help Honor the Legacy of Dr. Duane G. Wenzel

Please join us in celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology at the KU School of Pharmacy. This landmark occasion provides an opportunity to for faculty, students, alumni & friends to reflect on the department’s storied past and look forward to even greater accomplishments in the future. This momentous anniversary is also an occasion to honor the legacy of Dr. Duane G. Wenzel, one of the finest faculty members ever to teach and lead at the KU School of Pharmacy, 

Dr. Wenzel arrived at KU in 1948 as an Assistant Professor in the School of Pharmacy. In 1969, he created the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology and recruited the best faculty members he could find to join him. His legacy to the school and department is the foundation of excellence that is so evident today.

In honor of Dr. Wenzel, KU Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology alumnus Dr. Daniel Acosta, Jr. has generously established the endowed Dr. Duane G. Wenzel Scholarship to support graduate students in Pharmacology & Toxicology. Dr. Acosta set up a challenge grant & has pledged to match any funds raised for the endowment up to $25,000 to reach a minimum of $50,000.  We invite you to join Dr. Acosta and other donors in giving to this very worthy cause and thank you for your generosity.
