Waterski Club Funding
The waterski club provides a safe environment for people of all levels and abilities to grow in skills, compete at collegiate tournaments and develop relationships with skiers from around the country.
Practices are held at Crown Ski Lake, where members from the MoKan Ski Club coach new skiers along with the help of experienced KU waterski club members. Tournaments are held in the Midwest during the fall season, where members can compete in three events: slalom, jump and trick. The last three tournaments are conference, regionals and nationals which require specific placing to move forward. Members of the club are coached to compete and excel in these tournaments.
The money raised will be used in a variety of ways to enhance the teaching, training and engagement throughout our club.
Your donation will assist us with items like:
- Purchasing new equipment. We currently have one pair of jump skis that are too big for most of our athletes. A smaller pair of jump skis would allow more members to be successful in their skiing.
- Providing gas used in the boats during practice. Without these boats, we would be unable to practice.
- Hosting and traveling to tournaments. There are several costs that go into these tournaments, such as gas, food, tournament fees, boat drivers, safety officers, judges, etc.
There are several pieces of equipment and resources necessary for creating a successful season for all members. A gift of any size will help us continue to provide these services and experiences to all interested skiers. THANK YOU.
