Compassionate Communities Tool Box

We believe that all human beings are born with the capacity for compassion. With the capacity for peace, justice, and reconciliation. We aim to spread resources about how to cultivate these assets. Help us build a peaceful world together.

Building a compassionate and just community takes intention. We must notice suffering and be compelled to take action. KU’s Community Tool Box is a public service of the Work Group for Community Health and Development. We are partnering with the Charter for Compassion International (founded by TED Prize winner Karen Armstrong) to provide tools and resources available to those working to build compassionate communities.

A donor has provided the majority of needed funding ($15,000) to develop content on building compassionate communities, but $7,000 is needed to complete the project. Help us create and publish the remaining resources and make them freely available to the world. Developed content will contain practical guidance, real-world inspirational examples, free PowerPoints for training, and links to online guidance. Visit Chapter 28: Spirituality and Community Building to view the valuable materials that have been made available to date.
