As we celebrate our 75th anniversary, the KU Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science is proud to be one of the leading programs in the country. Our faculty have greatly contributed to our department’s success. Their work expands our knowledge base in a variety of health and science areas, including diabetes, vestibular and balance rehabilitation, health exercise and aging, and more.
In 2002, the Ball and Blanchard Faculty Development Fund was established by Dr. Camilla Wilson and her late husband, Michael Wilson, to honor professors Jessie Ball and Ruth Blanchard. The fund allows current faculty to maintain cutting-edge clinical skills that directly benefit students in the classroom and advance the science supporting physical therapy.
To ensure our faculty and students have ample opportunities to participate in the latest training and instruction, we invite to join our LaunchKU campaign for the Ball and Blanchard Faculty Development Fund. Every gift makes a difference and advances our mission to develop caring physical therapists who exemplify the highest level of clinical expertise. To help your gift go even further, clinical professor and former department chair Dr. Lisa Stehno-Bittel has generously offered to match dollar for dollar all gifts made to the fund, up to $5,000.

A $25 gift provides a mentoring lunch for a faculty member to meet with educational leadership at local institutions. Your $25 will become $50 thanks to the dollar for dollar match provided by Dr. Stehno-Bittel!
A gift of $50 purchases an educational leadership textbook as a resource for faculty development. Your $50 will become $100 thanks to the dollar for dollar match provided by Dr. Stehno-Bittel!
A $100 gift covers registration fees for a 1-day state conference. Your $100 will become $200 thanks to the dollar for dollar match provided by Dr. Stehno-Bittel!
A gift of $500 covers registration fees for a new faculty development workshop conference. Your $500 will become $1000 thanks to the dollar for dollar match provided by Dr. Stehno-Bittel!
