Jayhawk Motorsports (JMS) is a participant in the FSAE collegiate design competition where students design, build, test, and race formula-style race cars. Each year JMS builds a vehicle with a traditional combustion powertrain or electric powertrain. We have had a very successful history in the Formula SAE competition. In the last decade, Jayhawk Motorsports has achieved 8 top 5 finishes including two overall 1st place finishes in the 2012 and 2014 Lincoln competitions. These events include a hundred teams travelling from all over the world. This year Jayhawk Motorsports has hopes of another top finish in 2020, with a focus on data acquisition, testing, and a chassis redesign to improve the team’s performance. Our goals are high, but our motivation to succeed is higher.
This year our team is making huge strides by completely redesigning the carbon fiber chassis. This presents a different approach to the design of the vehicle, optimizing composite development. We plan to put all of our efforts into the perfection and justification of our designs such that our legacy is recognized in future years. In addition, our vehicle will maintain significant redesigns in the aero, powertrain, and suspension department. We will learn from the past, and optimize for the 2020 car. This year’s team is particularly motivated to meet their financial goals as well, hoping to fundraise their way toward competing overseas in Germany next summer as we have done in 2015.
Every donation is critical in allowing students to develop technological advances in the FSAE sphere and gives them a hands-on opportunity to apply the skills they learn in class. Jayhawk Motorsports is a unique organization as it includes students from all engineering majors as well as students from across the university. This year we have approximately 40 undergraduate students working on our team from aerospace engineering, computer science, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, accounting, finance, and marketing. Thank you for considering supporting our cause and helping students flourish in an active learning environment. We hope to make you proud.
Small donations go a long way. Donations like these stack up and buy our hardware to make sure this formula car is race ready.
You guys are the hardworking Jayhawk supporters who cheer us on and contribute to our team, providing us with the opportunity to build a racecar we can be proud of. Donations here boost team morale and show us you believe in the team!
Gifts at this level will begin building our car. It provides us tooling and stock for making parts of the vehicle. Support our build season by supporting the machinists in all of us!
Our team intends to succeed. No doubt about it. With this gift level, you support our testing and racing team dedicated to optimizing its performance on late night test drives. Help us learn about the car, help us test new designs, help us be a data driven machine!
A contribution that will act as a direct catalyst to achievement of our goal. Donations buy components we can’t manufacture and directly improve our car’s performance. Our dedicated team will spend THOUSANDS of hours working to make your contribution worth every cent.
Would you like YOUR LOGO/NAME ON OUR RACECAR and our website? A logo of your choice will be placed on the vehicle sidepod. Bronze level sponsors and above receive an invitation to our UNVEILING EVENT in April, and have the option to a group/company tour of our facility upon request!
Do you want A LARGE LOGO/NAME ON A RACECAR and on our website? A logo of your choice will be placed on vehicle sidepod in a higher visibly location, better seen in dynamic photos of the car in action. You will receive an invite to our UNVEILING EVENT in April, and have the option to a group/company tour of our facility upon request!
Do you want your LOGO/NAME TO STAND OUT ON OUR RACE CAR, Website, and social media RECOGNITION? A logo of your choice will be placed on the the most visible part of the sidepod design. This contribution guarantees access to our team for PR EVENTS, if conditions allow. This support naturally also warrants an invite to our UNVEILING EVENT in April, facilities tour, and possible testing day visit.
