School of Education & Human Sciences

Support the School of Education & Human Sciences.

Your support strengthens the Jayhawk legacy!

Our country is more diverse today than ever before. No matter their field of study, our students from both undergraduate and graduate programs will likely work in settings of diverse constituents. We are pleased to share that the School of Education & Human Sciences is fully committed to pursuing a diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) agenda. This agenda has multiple facets in support of and reflection on our practices for Recruitment and Retention, Professional Development and Curriculum Revisions.

We believe contributions to honest and open conversations are the best investment that can be made to help our school expand and enhance our efforts to create an environment of inclusiveness. We have established an internal committee of students, faculty and staff and an external committee of SoEHS alumni to offer advice and support. Both committees are spearheaded by SoEHS administrator Dr. Ngondi Kamatuka, who serves as Assistant Dean and Director of the Center for Educational Opportunity Programs at KU.

Our goal is to attract more diverse students, faculty and staff, and equip all students with the skills needed for success in their chosen profession while understanding the needs of all the groups they will serve. We believe the time is right to strategically focus energy and resources on strengthening our work in these vital areas.

Given all the challenges we have faced, I am proud to announce these achievements:

  • Top 10 ranking among education schools in public colleges and universities nationwide including No. 1 Special Education Department and No. 19 Curriculum & Teaching Department (U.S. News & World Report).
  • Over $50 million in total research expenditures ranks high among all education schools across the country.
  • Department of Health, Sport and Exercise Sciences joins Stanford, Boston Children’s Hospital (Harvard), UC-San Diego, Salk Institute, University of Oregon-Eugene, in the $200 million Wu Tsai Performance Alliance, a dynamic collaboration that will focus on optimizing athletic performance and state-of-the-art injury prevention and regeneration.

Our Jayhawk legacy in the School of Education & Human Sciences has never burned brighter thanks to the dedication and commitment of our students, faculty, staff and alumni like you. We ask you to consider a gift today to help us achieve our goals.

Every gift makes a difference.

Student Spotlight:

By awarding me this scholarship, you have lightened my financial burden, which allows me to focus more on the most important aspect of school: learning, gaining experiences, collaborating, and networking with different departments on campus. Your generosity has inspired me to help others and give back to the community. I hope one day I will be able to help students achieve their goals just as you have helped me.” - Anthony J., MS Higher Education Administration
