School of Health Professions

Support the School of Health Professions.

Your support strengthens the Jayhawk legacy!

The challenges of the global pandemic revealed the need for experienced healthcare workers who can quickly adapt and respond to changing needs and priorities to maintain resilient and healthy communities. We have tremendous pride in our nationally ranked academic programs and internationally renowned faculty who are leaders in their respective disciplines. Our student enrollment remains strong, and we are poised to continue the proud tradition of producing skilled and trusted health care professionals to lead the future of health care delivery in the state of Kansas, and beyond.

We believe it is our profound responsibility to ensure a pathway of opportunity for students who aspire to a career in one of our professions. No student should abandon their academic aspirations because of financial barriers. Ensuring an affordable and accessible education must be at the forefront of our efforts as we continue to educate our future workforce. The School of Health Professions leadership team has outlined the following priorities to support this purpose:

  • Enhance scholarship and student support to prepare the next generation of health care professionals by making an education possible. Most of our current scholarships do not meet the growing needs of students who desire to attend college but cannot afford it. We must champion equitable access to our professional degree programs, especially for underrepresented groups such as students from rural Kansas.
  • Establish pipeline scholarships to support first-generation students. For students who are the first in their families to attend college and are faced with financial challenges, financial support is necessary to provide a transformative experience and opportunity.
  • This is an exciting and dynamic time in health care as innovation and advancements shape the landscape of our profession. The opportunities are limitless, but our students need help to even consider taking advantage of those opportunities. Please consider making a gift to invest in our current and future students. Private support is needed to maintain our tradition of academic excellence but also to propel us forward.

On behalf of the students, faculty and staff, we thank you for your partnership and for investing in our mission.

Student Spotlight:

My dream of becoming a physical therapist is transforming into reality as I begin the Doctor of Physical Therapy program in the KU School of Health Professions. However, this reality did not always seem possible. Growing up in a single-parent household, I experienced financial hardships at an early age and scholarship support was necessary for me to attend college. I am grateful for the scholarship I received which is making possible this opportunity to pursue my passion to become a physical therapist, and I hope other students, like me, are given the same opportunity.” – Lindsay G., DPT 2024
