School of Nursing

Support the School of Nursing.

Your support strengthens the Jayhawk legacy!

The past year was one like no other, but we at the KU School of Nursing have not just survived, we have thrived with our students and faculty remaining resilient. The school is energized as it continues to provide a world-class education for the next generation of nurse clinicians, leaders, educators and researchers. These are the professionals that will serve and lead on the frontlines of care in Kansas and beyond.

The School of Nursing is committed to creating a more representative, equitable and inclusive learning and working environment. We work daily to instill in our students the values of excellence, leadership and compassion. We also strive for an atmosphere that nurtures the growth and development of our students, faculty, staff and patients.

I’m pleased to announce a few of the many exciting things going on in the school:

  • The KU BSN program has an impressive pass rate of 93% for the National Council Licensure Examination.
  • We are ranked No. 21 among National Institutes of Health-funded public nursing schools nationwide.
  • The school has collaborated with eight community colleges in Kansas to create the KU Community College Nursing Partnership Program, allowing students to complete their ADN and BSN simultaneously.
  • Recognized by the National League for Nursing as a Center of Excellence, we are the only school in the region with this designation.
  • We created the KU Nursing Pathways Program for Fall 2021 to introduce the nursing profession to high school students in rural and underserved areas. The program includes mentorship and guidance for students prior to and through their nursing education, thereby increasing the diversity of future BSN classes and graduates.

The work the School of Nursing does is vital to the health and wellness of our state and region, and we rely on your philanthropy to help us achieve our goals. Please consider supporting the KU Nursing community today with a gift.

On behalf of our students, faculty and staff, thank you.

Student Spotlight:

KU has provided me the opportunity to achieve lifelong dreams and then some. The classes and clinicals are engaging and empowering. Through participation in campus organizations, I have met local and nationwide peers, friends and mentors. I have been able to participate in research that is changing the face of health care. These experiences are guiding me into becoming the exceptional nurse KU is known for making.” - Tucker T., BSN 2022
