As we begin the technical drawings for the Haiti Community Center project, we wanted to share a few images of our latest study model and a concept sketch of the front facade.

Reviewing design concepts and construction feasibility with faculty and the Dean of the School.  Exploring options for roof structure and also evaluation possible phasing strategies for construction.

Prototype Rammed Earth Wall Section

October 20, 2017

Testing construction techniques with prototype wall section for Haiti project.  Working with the preliminary concept has informed strategies for construction sequencing.

Prototype Building Wall Section

October 05, 2017

Our students constructed the form work for a section of the proposed wall design and then learned rammed earth techniques from professor Chad Kraus.  They started building the wall and hope to take the forms off by next Wednesday.
