KU Disc Golf National Championship Trip
After travelling to Platteville, Wisconsin and Columbia, MO for two different qualifiers, the Disc Golf Club at KU has earned spots for three teams at the National Championship taking place at the International Disc Golf Center (IDGC) in Appling, GA. The National Championship takes place from March 27th - March 30th. This is both a great opportunity for KU to make its mark at a national disc golf event and also for our players to gain experience at some top tier courses.
We are asking for your help with getting to Georgia and compete. Usually we will take 2-3 rental cars and drive over 2100 miles in each one. The time and money spent is not ideal, so we are planning on flying this year. The event requires each member to take a week off from class, so we are trying to minimize the time lost. At Nationals, KU has had three members with two separate all american finishes and four top 15 team finishes (out of 40-60 teams per year).
Our team has always been a smaller, tight-knit group that loves to go out and throw plastic around. For your contributions, we are offering some fun ways for us to give back. For the second tier donation, we will create a personalized video for you, most likely of a single shot at nationals dedicated in your name. We always try to throw far, but sometimes it doesn't work out, which we think will make the videos all the more fun for you to watch. Every donator will be personally thanked in a final video following the end of our National Championship run.
For more information, you can go to our club website at KUDiscGolf.com, and also check out the T-shirt fundraiser we will be starting soon. There, we also have our youtube channel where you can see some of the videos we have made so far.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. We are so excited and thankful for your help in advance. If you have any further questions, feel free to email our President, Damian Vu, at Damian@ku.edu
