JayDoc Free Clinic 2020

Thank you for taking time to consider supporting JayDoc Free Clinic. As a free and volunteer-run safety net clinic, JayDoc relies on the generous support of community members to continue to provide quality healthcare to those in need in the Greater Kansas City area. At JayDoc, we make it our mission to not only treat their acute condition, but work with each patient to help them find long-term, affordable, and sustainable care within our community. This is not a goal we can achieve without the generosity of our community.

JayDoc Free Clinic has provided quality health care to the underserved populations of Greater Kansas City for over 15 years, serving over 1,000 patients per year. JayDoc is one of the few student-run and volunteer-based free clinics in the entire country and provides non-emergent acute and preventative care on Monday and Wednesday evenings and specialty night clinics on Tuesday evenings.

Medical care at JayDoc is provided by volunteer community physicians, who mentor and guide medical student volunteers in patient care and medical ethics. Clinic services include acute-care procedures, language interpretation, laboratory services as well as consultations for dietetics and pharmacy. Our clinic also has a community resource program that provides patients with referrals to specialty care clinics, other safety-net clinics, low-cost medication, legal assistance, and educational opportunities. Additionally, JayDoc has placed an importance on providing care to children and adolescents. Throughout the year, we provide not only our acute-care services but also serve as a clinic where children and adolescents can complete their required school physicals and immunizations. On Tuesdays, JayDoc provides specialty night clinics that operate on a rotating basis. Every other week our Women’s Health Initiative Program offers gynecological consultations giving expectant mothers the opportunity to receive free prenatal care in the metropolitan area. For individuals who require more specialized care, we refer them to the MOM clinic in Kansas City to ensure no mother goes without care. On alternating weeks, our Diabetes Clinic provides specialized patient care and health education for patients dealing with diabetes. Our clinic focuses on stabilizing patients’ glycemic indices before referrals to medical homes are made. Additionally, we offer ophthalmology, dermatology, musculoskeletal, transgender, and radiology services one night a month. Thank you for taking time to consider supporting JayDoc Free Clinic through our LaunchKU campaign and sharing in our vision to care for Greater Kansas City.
