First Nations Student Association (FNSA) Student Support Fund

The First Nations Student Association (FNSA) Student Support Fund was created for Native American students at the University of Kansas and administered by a representative of the Native Faculty & Staff Council. This fund will provide financial assistance to currently enrolled KU students who are active in FNSA and who are unable to meet immediate, essential expenses because of temporary hardship related to an unexpected situation. The establishment of this fund is designated to off-set a short-term financial need and is not intended to replace or supplement financial aid.

.

Here are some recent examples of FNSA student needs:

  • Buying a suit for a job interview/internship
  • Technology during COVID-19

.

We hope to grow this fund and fundraise through our FNSA 5K, which will be held each spring in conjunction with the KU FNSA Powwow & Indigenous Cultures Festival. This year's FNSA 5K will be virtual, as we aim to promote physical activity and donations toward our fund.

.

The First Nations Student Association promotes the academic and social success of each and every member of its organization at the University of Kansas. We strive for excellence and the enhancement of cultural awareness and through education, we will be able to cultivate our message to those old and young of our mission and commitment to our community, campus, and our culture.
