Experiential Learning Opportunities in the School of Law

More than 50 years ago, KU Law became a pioneer in clinical legal education when it launched the Paul E. Wilson Project for Innocence. Since then the law school has built an experiential learning program that includes a mix of live-client clinics, field placements and skills simulations that help students sharpen professional skills and gain practical experience.

General range of awards for student internships:

  •  $500 - $700 helps cover costs for participating in local unpaid internships.
  •  $1,500 - $2,500 helps cover cost-of-living expenses for in-state unpaid internships.
  •  $3,500+ - helps cover cost-of-living expenses for out-of-state internships in more expensive metropolitan areas.
