The KU Wichita Internal Medicine Residency Program is committed to providing our residents with an exceptional educational environment supporting their goal of becoming ABIM board-certified Internists. Since 2014, we have achieved a 100% ABIM examination Take-Rate (eligible graduates who take boards) while maintaining a three-year Board Pass-Rate > 93% (most recent three-year Board Pass-Rate: 94.3%).
While funding is tight, resources have been made available to residents the past few years including providing copies of Digital MKSAP for incoming Interns, Med Study for second-year residents and UWorld ABIM Question Bank access for graduating residents. These board prep materials not only help individual residents, but also provide a recruiting advantage as we are able to highlight the layers of support provided for resident ABIM preparation.
While many resources have been made available, our 2022 senior residents will once again have to personally fund their ABIM examination. This is yet another burden for our residents to endure on their career trajectory. We believe this poses a unique opportunity for alumni and friends of our residency to help clear a final hurdle for this bright, and accomplished, 2022 class by funding their ABIM exams. We hope you will consider funding a portion, or all, of the cost of a KU Wichita Internal Medicine resident’s ABIM exam.
Your support will have an immediate impact on the 17 residents who are finishing their residency training and will also continue to build on the recruitment impact of our Internal Medicine community’s ongoing support of our Internal Medicine trainees.
Thank you for supporting the residents of KU Wichita Internal Medicine!
