KU Engineering has a strong legacy and a bright future. This fall, KU Engineering is honored to celebrate its 125th anniversary. Our students are gaining national acclaim for their scholarship, our faculty continue to conduct groundbreaking research that raises the School’s national profile, and our alumni are leaders in industry that are a constant source of pride throughout Jayhawk nation.

587 incoming freshmen in Fall 2016 marks a record recruiting class for KU Engineering. These students arrive at KU with the highest overall average ACT (28.7) and average Math ACT (29.4) in the history of KU Engineering. This class also represents an increase of nearly 40% in so-called “Ability Band 1” students – the top academic performers in the state. It also includes the highest percentage and overall numbers of underrepresented minorities in the history of the school.
