Thank you for your interest in Jayhawk Motorsports (JMS), the Formula SAE racing team of the University of Kansas! Your contributions allow the team to compete at the highest level amongst the best FSAE teams in the world and contribute toward the success of future KU engineering graduates.
Formula SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers), or Formula Student, is a worldwide collegiate design competition in which teams from across the globe design, manufacture and compete against each other to produce the best Formula style racing cars. Jayhawk Motorsports is a top-tier team and has proudly represented the university at these events for over 25 years.

Jayhawk Motorsports has been one of the leading contenders in the Formula SAE competitions with eight top-five finishes and two overall first place wins in 2012 and 2014, making the team one of two worldwide to repeat wins at the FSAE Lincoln competition.
JMS has been on the cutting edge of FSAE innovation for decades as one of the earliest adopters of a carbon fiber monocoque chassis and carbon fiber wheels. This year, the team aims to complete a new electric car. With the constant innovations of electric cars going on around us, we decided we wanted to dive deep into continuing the innovation. Such a complex engineering project would not be possible without the generous support from our sponsors, who extend the capabilities of the project beyond our resource and manufacturing limits. To produce high-quality and competitive race cars, the project requires a substantial budget, largely consisting of generous donations from both individuals and companies, small and large.
