Support Your Student Radio Station!

KJHK has been providing alternative music, creative content, and free-form programming since it first took to the airwaves October 15, 1975. That’s nearly 50 years of broadcasting in the Lawrence area!

KJHK is currently building towards being able to offer our staff members an affordable wage so they are able to build their resumes at the station without having to hold two or sometimes three additional jobs to support themselves while attending KU. Gifts supporting KJHK go toward creating educational opportunities for over 250 students on campus who are passionate about radio, broadcasting and the music industry. Students at KJHK acquire experiences such as working with promoters and agents, event planning and management, and leadership. 

Contributions to this campaign will help KJHK build towards paying students fair wages, sending students to educational conferences in New York and Denver, sending KJHK sports staff to cover NCAA tournaments for men’s and women’s basketball, and to purchase much needed equipment that will keep the station running for years to come.

KJHK was named the best college radio station in the United States in 2024 at the Intercollegiate Broadcast awards! The station has been nominated for many more awards at the conference in 2025 including:
