The University of Kansas Medical Center athletic training program is preparing for our incoming class of master’s level professional students this summer. The program is committed to providing students with the education and tools necessary to succeed as athletic trainers. To this end, a "field kit" comprised of several items universal to practice as an athletic trainer will be provided to first-year students. The kit will include a blood pressure cuff, stethoscope, CPR mask, goniometers (3 sizes), reflex hammer, pen light, tape cutter, tape measure, and a pair of scissors put together into a sling bag..
.
Students will be able to use this field kit throughout the program during all courses and clinical experiences, as well as take it with them as they graduate and transition to practice.
Alumni and friends of the athletic training program who support this initiative are welcome to provide words of wisdom or encouragement that will be included in each student’s field kit. This meaningful contribution helps connect our current athletic training students to our strong network of alumni and friends as the students begin their journey to become clinicians.
