The Student Alumni Ambassadors (SAA) are raising funds to support the Emergency Aid Network for students at the University of Kansas. The Emergency Aid Network grants emergency funding to students who are experiencing an unexpected or unforeseen expense due to circumstances beyond their control. Emergency funds are intended to assist a student in addressing an immediate, unexpected financial hardship which might otherwise prevent them from continued participation as a KU student. SAA believes the Emergency Aid Network has a significant impact on KU students facing hardships because as a Jayhawk community, it is our responsibility to support one another while providing and advocating for resources that can support Jayhawks in need.
Who we are
The Student Alumni Ambassadors (SAA) are the official student representatives of the KU Alumni Association. SAA is comprised of KU student leaders from across campus who celebrate Jayhawk traditions, encourage philanthropic engagement, and create alumni connections with students.
Who we are supporting
The Emergency Aid Network was established in 2018 to provide a central location for information about campus, local, state and federal resources to help those who may be experiencing financial or personal hardships.
Emergency financial aid funding is limited and awarded until funds are depleted and is usually offered in the amount of $500 or less. Since Fall 2022:
On average, the Emergency Aid Network is able to award 64% of emergency grant applications each semester. With your support, we can rally as a Jayhawk community to increase support for the Emergency Aid Network to award more emergency financial aid to students in need.
$100 provides a student with a textbook for one of their courses.
$500 provides full support for one student receiving funds from the Emergency Aid Network.
