The representation of women in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) workforce remains low at a national level. At KU, we are dedicated to producing more women leaders in STEM at all levels in the university. Focusing on fostering our female leaders in science, technology, engineering and mathematics requires mentoring, networking and training by our faculty and leaders in one’s field of research.

At the undergraduate level, one way that KU can impact our young women in STEM is by obtaining funding to send our students to national conferences to present their research. At these conferences our students build confidence in their research and themselves. They network with thought-leaders and often times find a mentor for life. These can be life changing experiences that impact a young woman’s academic and career trajectory.

Please join us in making a gift of any size to support our young female students pursuing an education in STEM fields.

Our goal is to raise $3,000 to send three women to a conference to receive national recognition for their work and to empower them to become leaders in STEM fields.

Women Philanthropists for KU (WP4KU) is focused on engaging and educating women and the community about the University of Kansas.
